Waccovians,
The ever popular stupidity of mailbox bashing reared its ugly head on Jonive Rd. again. At 4:00am, June 1st, yet another group (possibly three+) of mentally questionable males bashed our mailbox and sped off; but not before we were able to hear their voices, and get a glimpse of a dark colored SUV (possibly an Explorer).
So, heads up in the area...
What is this phenomenon, some juvenile, asinine rite of passage?

Yes, it is a juvenile, asinine rite of passage. When I was 16 my friend had an old (seemingly bulletproof) Rambler, and when we got stoned, we loved going out on Pleasant Hill Road (our stomping ground) and backing into mailboxes to knock them down completely. We'd laugh endlessly as one by one, we'd knock them down. We didn't do the baseball bat thing, although it was being done by others at the same time. That was 35 years ago.
