Dear Wacco Commumity,

I currently have two (English Speaking) exchange students from New Zealand who are coming to Sonoma County and need host families. Both exceptional young men, polite and well behaved. One young man is VERY active in basketball. A good family for him would be one that enjoyed basketball and/or athletics in general. The second young man loves Rugby so he might be interested in trying out for the club team at Elsie Allen. I also have a young woman from German, who is of Turkish descent. She enjoys Hip Hop dancing and has played the piano for seven years. There are nine others from Germany, Russia, Mexico, Japan, and Brazil.

I have been working with international students in this County (I live in Sebastopol) for nine years and am well known at most Sonoma County schools. I currently have students at Analy, Petaluma High, El Molino, SR High, Montgomery, Middletown, South San Francisco, Albany, and Piner High. We just returned from our annual trip to Hawaii where we spent time with a local high school (Oahu's North Shore). I have an active group each year and the experience is one enjoyed by both sides. A recent quote from a host mother here in Sebastopol says

I'm glad we decided to have XXXXXX stay with us. He is very considerate, and helpful. For us as a family, this experience has brought us even closer. There are challenges that comes with it, and we all have to deal with it our own way. You can only grow on a situation like this. In fact, it is to be recommended to any family that can handle a little change in family dynamics!

My recent motto has become:
PEACE is not just a concept.........it requires ACTION!

Perhaps you will consider giving your family and a student, the gift of a lifetime?

Warm Wishes To All,
Jill
