U. Utah Phillips just died. A great loss to music and activist politics. He'd been sick for quite a while but it's still a shock.

Mr. Bruce Utah Phillips was indeed a wonderful spirit!
Truly a folk music legend and peace and peace and labor activist!

From 'hobo' to fame, he added his folklore, folk music, mind and charm everywhere he went! He was a great storyteller!

Now his vibrations are truly everywhere and I can imagine he is having a rockin' , good 'ole, giddy time, as he is meeting/coming in contact with all the other folk music legends who have physically left the Earth's realm.

I received the gift of getting to know Utah Phillips while living in Nevada City. He, his wife and I (and others) worked closely together in establishing a Peace Education Center shortly after Sept 11. 2001.

I received the news of his passing early Saturday morning. And even though there were days he definitely did not feel good or at his best, he never gave up his cute sense of humor/charm.

He was and continues to be a very loved , dear appreciated soul.

Thank you very much Mad Miles for posting this thread.
