A few months ago I posted an ad similar to this and I got many responses. Unfortunately my hard drive died and I lost the contacts, so I am re-posting again.
Sonoma County has been in the forefront of reducing garbage. We started the first curbside program in the state, met our 50% reduction goal and started innovative programs to reduce our waste.
We are striving to go further: towards Zero Waste. In order to do that, a general mental shift has to take place.
As a 10 year appointed member of the county Local Task Force (This is the advisory commission reporting to the county Board of Supervisors on waste reduction). I, and the whole task force, are looking for new, interested, even enthusiastic, activists to help get us to the next level.
There is no pay. We meet once every two months; sometimes more when we need to. There is the satisfaction that we are helping directly to shape our 'waste' policies for years to come.
If you're interested in knowing more and getting involved, let me know.
Thanks,
Sammy Nasr
