In Europe the regulations for Codex Alimentarius on regulating vitamins, minerals, and herbs has been implemented already. It is illegal to buy supplements in a therapeutic dose except ones that conform to the minimum daily requirements. For instance, to buy a dose of say 500 mg of Vitamin C taken to boost the immune system is illegal. You have to get the higher concentrated ones through a doctor's prescription. Many of the supplement companies such as Solgar are now actually owned by pharmaceutical companies. Can anyone guess why?

I haven't looked into it in awhile but the changes being implemented here in the US are gradual, law by law, undoing legislation and laws that stand in the way of rolling this out here.

There are also Codex Alimentarius laws that pertain to fresh food and agriculture that are equally disturbing. It is a whole host of things that are sickening. Literally.

My understanding is that the best thing to do is to begin to organize and speak up because these standards can be modified through a huge consumer outcry. There is a bit of leeway country to country with some of the standards being interpreted in favor of big business interest instead consumer needs rather so that is where people can perhaps make a change or a difference if they speak up soon.
