We live on a half-mile gravel road which also serves five other properties. We have been here some thirty-six years, during which the maintenance has been catch as catch can with occasional professional maintenance. As we all age, and as more affluence has entered our community, there is a push for a settled maintenance plan.
Two of the properties have two dwellings each, one is split into two parcels. One of the properties with dual dwellings also has two businesses, a home consulting business and a vineyard. They probably account for ninety percent of the traffic, including daily delivery vans and other heavy equipment.
We are looking for some guidelines from folks who have, or have had, a similar road situation, how to apportion expenses in particular. While we honor your opinions, we are searching for already established protocol that has worked.
