"Just Like Peter Pan Blues"
(aka The FairyCan)
by Stephen D. Gross
I'll climb through your window in the middle of the night
fool around with your children and I'll put you uptight
Kidnap your babies and make love to your dog
in my skin tight suit apple green like a frog
I'll steal away your kids to Never-Never land
Well I know you can't dig it but the FairyCan
yeah we'll turn 'em all green just like Peter Pan
You have to understand I'm Louis FairyCan
I'll teach 'em all to fight and tell 'em when to go
just like those survivalists in Idaho
we'll build us a ship and we'll take a little cruise
we'll go looking for pirates, Cap'n Hook 'n his 'Brews
one arm is a hook and another's his nose
and he used to run slaves like I run panty hose
a croc ate his elbow but it didn't touch his jewels
and his crew all adores him tho he treats 'em like fools
they all think he's cute with his natty pair of hooks
and I have to admit he looks a lot like Mel Brooks
But those 'Brews live in the gutter and destruction is my plan
You White folk can't dig it but the FairyCan
you musta' been jealous - you invented ManTan
I know it didn't help you but the FairyCan
We're goin' down to Washington and I don't give a hoot
Cause I know Mayor Berry and he's saving me a toot
Don't want a noose around my neck
just a ring around my collar
but I might lynch me a Zionist
in the name of Allah
Then I'll sue them bloodsuckers,
call Jacoby & Meyers
They say they're eating borscht
but they're a bunch of vampires
The only thing I like's another Melanistic man
you feys can't be one but the FairyCan
Tinkerbelle snorts pixie dust in back of my van
and you Directors can't have none
but the FairyCan
'Can plays the violin he's got one at home
and sometimes he bitches 'bout pre-minstrel syndrome
the way he holds the bow he ain't playing the blues
he says he'd rather use it to shoot arrows at the Jews
He swears that they own every rib joint in the land
you probably can't digest that but the FairyCan
he wants to see a woman far behind every man
the Fems can't understand it but the FairyCan
I wrote the above in March '98 shortly after Farrakhan's Saviour's Day remarks became known to the public.

"For nearly 30 years, Louis Farrakhan has marked himself a notable figure on the extremist scene by making hateful statements targeting Jews, whites and homosexuals.
Farrakhan’s bigoted and anti-Semitic rhetoric has included statements calling whites “blue eyed devils” and Jews “bloodsuckers” that controlled the slave trade, the government, the media and various Black individuals and organizations. In 2006, he blamed Jews and Israel for the war in Iraq, for controlling Hollywood and for promoting what he considers immorality during his February Saviours' Day address in Chicago." How come when I meet up with "Progressives" and liberals, I always come across race?
I've been in THE most redneck of places and have not had as much hassle (often) as I do with folks like this? I also find it "coincidental" with the Reverend Wright issue in the public.
Damn.
But since YOU brought it to the market, how is it that a very small minority have a large representation in certain fields that affect public opinion?
And out of the 200+ countries in the world, why does Israel get SO much of US support, attention, sway and consideration in this countries foreign affairs?
And from I've read, there is history between Blacks & Jews, no?
Not that I give a flying fig. I just get a bit miffed when, for no apparent reason, crap like this is put out here. :2cents:
PS: The PD Comics have Candorville hitting squarely on the mark this past week or so. Check it out.

I'm not going to respond to the inflammatory comments made by everyone above... its so easy to get offended by those we disagree with. I do want to provide a little discussion of why Jews are over-represented in some areas (if you choose to look at it that way).
History shows that Jews became involved in money lending (and later finance) when Christianity forbid usury or charging interest. So since they were prevented from engaging in a number of other fields by the dominant culture... a vacuum got filled.
There's a lot of pressure (or rather there used to be) in Jewish families to pursue higher education. That led to over-representation in certain professions like journalism and medicine and law... at least after informal quotas got lifted after the 1950's. Yeah there were "gentlemen's agreements" back then.
Look at university level fields like engineering, IT and other sciences...there are lots of Asian people in those classes these days. So are you going to use that argument in the future to bemoan this over-representation?
Instead of getting so ticked off by what people say and lashing out, how about doing a little research into why things are the way they are?

In Europe Jews were forbidden to own land so had to move from farming into what might be considered the professions. They became, bankers, lawyers, physicians, artisans, tradesmen, academics, etc. Many countries also tried to keep their populations down by making it difficult for Jews to marry. Those most likely to marry were those from financially successful and socially influential families, who tend to be of higher intelligence. This resulted in a breeding program for more intelligence at a time when many of those of high intelligence in the Christian realm were becoming priests and nuns. So much for Hitler's beliefs about master and degenerate races.

So, you introduce the notion via the word "inflammatory". You split the baby down incorrectly. I was inflamed by the post, as so many times, race (in usually the most pejorative ways) is introduced by "progressives". Yes, I was inflamed for that reason.
But you are now inflamed....for what? I can only assumed because I asked a question or two. However, in my opinion, the language was not inflammatory at all, but rather neutral, no?
And by your parenthetical phrase "if you choose to look at it that way" you attempt to be a bit too dismissive. Someone played a race card, in the worst way, bringing up the same old, same ol', and now you cast a "new light" on the issue with "if you chose"?
Gadz, how self serving!
I can see from your post you are simply regurgitating some tripe you learned from some ill informed and possibly anti-Semitic teacher. Many in the Jewish community were always interested in medicine, writing, and as for the law, I think they had The Law more than an eon before Europeans stopped smearing themselves with animal fat and berries. Really had little to do with the Christians of Europe. Banking & monetary issues as well. If you've not read the what is called the Old Testament, you may try. You will be amazed about the economics and amount of space given to such.
As for throwing gas onto the fire relative to US and 'the gentleman's agreement'. Stuff it. No, we weren't pure and clean when it comes to "acceptance", but compared to where this country's Jews came from, this was paradise. You should know that. Most of what you write below is done out of.....well, as stated, I gather you know little of Jewish history, beliefs, or life. To bad. There is much there to learn from.
Oh, and as you accuse me of "lashing out", PLEASE, I didn't post the original, I just asked a simple, neutral question. But if you want a lashing....well it will cost more than this :2cents:

Hey, I like your name.
In the 800s when those that called themselves "Jews" traveled North into Russia, they did not come as farmers. Those in Europe did not come as such as well. Merchants, yes, farmers, no, for the most part. And because they were received, in Europe, without a big to do, they had their own practices and kept to themselves. As I understand it, the Ghetto of Venice was to erected so Jews may continue their lifestyle without interference from outsiders. Jews did not want to marry outside the tradition, so your view that such laws were imposed by outsiders is suspect. And due to their pride within their community, they became whatever it took to sustain themselves, like doctors, artisans, and "academicians" although that is a Western European view of what every young male had to do, which is read and study scripture. The difficulty of marrying outsiders was not really tough to make, as most didn't want to as well.
As for your "master race" remark, check your own self....as the WHOLE of the Old Testament, or at least the Torah, was set up on racial lines! The whole thing was racial, no? And look what happened!?!
Whomever taught you what you posted really should consider studying that group. Not in light of Christian Europe, and what "they" did to the Jews (although stuff happened at least every 15 or 20 years, like temple burning, etc). I suppose it would be as African Americans considering their whole world view in light OUTSIDE of that bit on slavery. Rather than be "the victims" continuously there has been a pieced together notion larger than that. You might consider pursuing that notion in light of what you posted below.

I lived in a heavily Jewish neighborhood for 14 years, had a couple Jewish boyfriends and a bunch of Jewish friends who loaned me books on Jewish culture and history. As an addicted reader and researcher I absorbed much of what I know from those books and my friends so if you find inaccuracies, you may lay the blame on my sources.

Talk about self-serving and dismissive Lenny... I got a chuckle or two out of your comments. Yes I was not pleased with the original posters "poem" but I've grown a thicker skin over time (suggest you do the same...).
The chuckling you hear is because I'm Jewish and by your leave feel more than comfortable with my earlier comments. Don't think I had any anti-Semitic teachers.. well not outright ones. Maybe a self hating Jew along the way. And yes oh yes I have read the Old Testament!!! Your lashes miss their mark.
I grew up in Southern CA and my parents greatly distrusted the "gentiles" but sought to get along and even put up a Christmas candle to blend in. Yes indeed life in America was better than their parent's lives in Europe but they got beat up on the way home from school regularly because they were Jewish...this was on the East Coast. You've made a lot of assumptions based on haphazard information....I reassert that you go off on those that offend you (as with the poster after me).
Please don't confuse ancient culture and history (and the purpose of the law) with these modern times and how a people have adapted. The law was extremely demanding and was intended to set the people apart and prepare them so as to be a model to others. But there were a lot of failures along the way...pride for one.
Familiarity with Jewish history led me to interest in Christianity which is rooted in Judaism. It helps to understand them both. Agreed?

Well, I've learned to be thick skinned over the period of several score. I was only on the East Coast for a short time and ran into a LOT of anti-everything and pro-lots-of-things, and much had to do with ethnicity. I asked a Polish fellow, back there, if he was really Polish. I should have asked him to cut off his arm! He started screaming; frightened the dog! Italians and Irish, same way back there. As a Californian, you may not be able to appreciate the mellowness of our setting, except it you go back there, OR deal with folks FROM there, which is about 90% of everybody around here! We have all these East Coast folks out here screwing things up with the situation out here for at least 40 years! Enough rant.
Your most important and interesting sentence, for me, "Please don't confuse ancient culture and history (and the purpose of the law) with these modern times and how a people have adapted. The law was extremely demanding and was intended to set the people apart and prepare them so as to be a model to others." gjves me a chance to rant on an issue important to my heart, so it will be brief: get back to what your ancestors had. Take up what your parents abandoned or lost, and if alive, ask them why they chose not to do what I urge you to do. Don't go back to any of the "hatred" stuff and stay away from the "anger" junk. Just approach Judaism and become what your first sentence, above, states. I will promise you rewards and enjoyment that all this left coast liberalism by far misses the mark. But that is just my :2cents:

Dear Everyone who cares (and a few who don't),
I guess my contempt and loathing for anti-semetism goes back to when my immigrant dad, a NYC waiter, took me, when I was very young to those Newsreel theaters in midtown Manhattan where I saw actual newsreel footage of Nazi death camps. bodies pied like cordwood in ditches, starving, bony apparitions too weak to walk through the unlocked gates . I'd look over at dad, a gruff-talking sweetheart of a man, who'd escaped from a POW camp and made his way to the US,, stoically watching the screen with tears in his eyes. When I'd ask, he'd always refuse to talk about the family that had been exterminated.
I know my Farrakhan piece is caustic and inflammatory. I'm not terribly proud of it, and maybe I shouldn't have posted it, but I was pissed off.
This thing with "Rev." Wright alluding to Louis as such a fine example, someone deserving of admiration - condoning his 'agenda'. Ever since my early cinematic experience with Dad, I've taken anti-semitism, (including, in all it's euphemistic forms), personally.
Anti-semitism has a long, ugly history of being the National Pastime of far too many people, many of them citizens of the USA. If some people imagine seeing horns on the heads of Jews, perhaps it's because Jews have served as scapegoats for so long.
Check out the website link for the ADL at the end of my original post and read Farrakhan's remarks. Hateful, toxic, malicious and hurtful, to anyone who cherishes peace, selflessness, compassion, freedom.
Google "Famous antisemites" and you find neo-nazi websites like stormfront and biblebelievers which espouse antisemitism and regard Nixon, Henry Ford, Hitler and Wagner as heroes and place the blame for all the vitriol and hatred endured by Jews, on the Jews themselves. Their belief is, antisemites in 200 countries can't all be wrong. For all I know, some of you, despite your self-righteousness, may agree,
But I firmly believe we should call the bullies, corporate vampires and hate mongers on their sick and malicious behavior. I'm not a violent person - I don't own an AK-47 or a .410 but, as Dylan points out, "I need a dump truck ... to unload my head" , and my writing, chiefly satirical by nature, is my dump truck.
I'm not providing excuses for what I did - just explaining - and I hope upon whom I'm dumping is quite clear.
I think we should all be assertive, speak up for that in which be believe, and speak out against hatred and oppression. If you have a problem with my exercising my freedom of speech, exercise yours.
If you wish to broaden your scope of information regarding antisemitism check out the websites below,

SD,
Yeah, it's a drag sometimes to get into that "hate zone". But see what it produced? I imagine being Jewish can be a drag sometimes, as when you dwell in that place. It may be like being Black, Indian, and Mexican in THIS country; or all three! Best you can, stay away from that hateful place, or let it pass over you like a cloud, otherwise problems will arise. Good luck with that.

I am going to have to study other sources before I comment on this but I learn alot by watching who is pointing fingers at who---- axes to grind noticeable. We all grow and change as we get older so quote me at 25 you would get some really outrageous crap out of me too!!! I am interested in context and progression of viewpoint where it comes from why its there what lies behind it. Was Hitler's grandmother a jewess or not??? Is there self hatred in there embedded inside the holocost on that account??? "Legacy" is Huge topic
