Does anyone have info/opinion on foam beds?
I've had a couple of foam mattresses. There is something about foam that does not feel right to me, the energy flow is strange. I prefer a cotton futon but they are hard and when my fibromyalgia flares, too hard.
1.) I purchased a high density "egg crate" type foam mat from Creator's Foam on Industrial, SR. It allows more air and energy flow and keeps the tenderspots from contacting the hard mattress and waking me. I really like it.
2.) I have also purchased from Creator's a 4" high density foam that made a very comfortable, supportive sleeping surface in the RV.
3.) The new "mattress topper" that forms to your body, that my mother spend $100 on, didn't feel good for more than an hour or two. She gave to me, I got rid of it.
The high density foam is EXPENSIVE and well worth it. I have also had the softer, lower density foam mattresses. In my opinion, if you can't afford the good stuff, get an air mattress. When I win the lottery I will buy a new theraputic, chiropractor approved, pillow topped, $800+ mattress. Until then, I am satified with what I have.
Hope this info helps.
Blessing, AnnaLisa

Polyurethane foam is highly toxic and off-gases. It's a petroleum product that is highly flammable so it's also loaded with chemical fire retardants. The memory foams have even more chemical additives. If you react or start feeling bad from the chemicals and off-gassing, you can't send it back.
If you want a foam bed, it's best to go with natural latex.

Unless of course you are allergic to latex? Might want to check cause man oh man is that allergy bad when you get that much of the stuff in one place and sleep in it!!

Sounds like the latex foam is the best bet. I'll investigate further. Thanks for the input everyone.
