TUNE IN
When troubled, sick or stressed, sometimes we just tune out our bodily sensations. But the deepest rest and healing comes from increased attention to our felt sense of self. Tune in with somatic awareness.

What is Somatics?
Somatics is the science of self-awareness, that sense derived by directing the five senses within. We encourage focusing and deepening this inner-body sense in order to address constitutional patterns of tension, healing, growth, and change. Somatic practices are vitalistic.

What is Vitalism?
Vitalistic practices focus on the uniqueness of our patterns of growth and healing. We view health and illness in terms of vital energy or life force (élan vital.) Somatic practices seek to nourish, stimulate and balance vital energy flow, and address the unique mystery of our physical, emotional and spiritual lives.

Somatic practitioners distinguish between services which treat diseases, and services that balance and nourish the dynamics of health that are within individual control. Through encouraging somatic awareness and vital flow, we support each client’s unique constitution from a holistic perspective.

Just as there may be a variety of treatments for medical conditions, there are also many holistic modalities for addressing our vital energy needs at different times.

We offer a variety of services to assist tuning in to your body’s core needs in the present moment. To this end, the most valued talent we provide is our presence.

Our training and experience includes Esalen, Swedish, Thai, deep tissue and hot stone massage, reiki, polarity and cranial-sacral therapies.
We also provide breath work, energy balancing, intuitive readings, coaching, embodied conflict resolution skills and conventional mediation services.

...

Indeed. Hard to believe people allow themselves to be scammed like this.

Keep your money.

EMF is good for you.

As EMF in our environment has grown, so has life expectancy.

The countries with the greatest longevity also have the most EMF.

Coincidence? I think not.

That said, we've been bathed in natural EMF forever. We evolved bathed in it.

We have many more dangerous things to deal with. The EMF debate, if it is a real debate, is a distraction from much more important things.

Stay healthy,

-Jeff

I hope he's paying the commercial posting fee for this one...

My charlatan detector's needle just pushed through to 11.

(edit) You absolutely HAVE to read that emf blocking website. It is one of the most unintentionally hysterical webpages EVER. crank.com needs to be notified.

Some of my favorite gems:

"Like a Grounding Wrist Strap for your car! No one likes that awful big shock when getting out of an automobile or truck."
(because who ISN'T routinely electrocuted by their car)

"truly ultra-fine metal wire mesh providing very high shielding performance is fashioned into a durable and very functional Faraday canopy for your bed"
(no... words...)

"Conductive dress socks for RF shielding..."

It just goes on...

Poster owes me a new keyboard...

As someone who does in fact get zapped by static electricity every time I get out of a car, this grounding device or one like it sounds plausible. Depending on the price, it would be worth a try.

Not entirely certain about the Faraday shield for the bed, however. While metal mesh is routinely used to block EMF, usually around very sensitive detection equipment and lab sensors, etc., the canopy over the bed does not prevent EMF from coming up through the floor.

These items are a bit over the top, but not nearly as out to lunch as you assert.

I find the entire site illucid, and from the emails I've received, I'm in the majority. Static shock is an uncommon phenomenon which can be solved in a number of sane ways (google-able) without attaching silly grounding straps to your frame, which, by the way, would only help you getting IN to the car, not out .

As far as EMF blocking clothing, it's conceptually stupid. Even if you were to grant the premise that EMF is somehow harmful :xtrmlaugh:, wearing EMF blocking longjohns, socks, and gloves, would do nothing to prevent your brain from getting fried. Unless it's an entire EMF blocking plastic bubble, it makes no sense. It would be like wearing anti-radiation underware to chernobyl.

Pure and utter quackerry.

Izzy Green - I am seriously curious if you are simply terminally stupid, or are you a criminal huckster?

Perhaps my brain has been too corrupted by, you know, science and rationality and (this is the big one) evidence and truth and facts, but basically you are either simply stupid, or you are a liar who should go to prison.

Or perhaps, and this is the optimist in me, it is both, and you are a stupid criminal liar who should be in prison.

Rich/PeriodThree,

Our Guidelines (https://www.waccobb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=886) call for being respectful and I think you'll agree that your post doesn't meet that standard. What's more, if you had read Izzy's post carefully, you would have understood that he also is suspect of the notion of anti-EMF clothing.

I find it hard to believe it’s come to this!...

In addition I noticed another recent post by you:

Maybe I shouldn't post when I feel honest, but how is it a 'gift' to further a bizarre idea that people have some 'intuitive' gift to 'read' conciousness?

I know we are in West County, but for f***s sake, why do we have so many ignorant suckers willing to believe hucksters, like you, offering totally not measurable bizarre little cultish 'intuitive' readings.

Seriously: this is no better than any other huckster and charlatan offering false promises and lies to the weak, wounded, and the gullible.

Please: stop preying on the weak members of our community.

This tone is unacceptable. If you want to remain a member, you'll need to start showing some more respect.

Barry

Care to explain the physics of that interesting assertion? Maybe a grounding strap on my shoe would be more helpful, not to mention useful in any location -- especially near Catholic churches.

And maybe people just want to protect certain parts of their bodies with these clothing items! Seriously, you are correct that when EMF is coming from many sources and many directions, the only thing that would block the waves is a bubble or something that covers the entire body. A Faraday burqua, anyone?

Why does this site and its products bother you so much? And why the insistence that EMF is harmless or, more astonishingly, beneficial? It reminds me of the gomers who would sit around in uranium mines because they thought the ambient ionizing radiation was a health tonic.

There is an interview on the DVD edition of "The God That Wasn't There" with a cosmologist (or maybe he is a physicist) in which he talks about the harmful radiation in the universe and emanating from good old Sol, among other things.

A good analogy is that one needs a small amount of exposure to ultraviolet light on the skin to make Vitamin D. Exposure to large amounts of ultraviolet light causes skin damage and skin cancers. When it comes to EMF, less is more.

The physics of what? That a grounding strap would be useless when getting out? Because you can't drive around with the thing dangling, you'd have to remove it when you drive and attach it until the next time you get in.

Faraday burqua:rofl2: I need to get a spillproof keyboard...

In all seriousness, what irks me about this website to some degree, and to many others to a larger degree, is the snake-oil quackery. I know that a sucker is born every minute, but preying on peoples' fears of the unknown to make a buck is something which I feel is deserving of my mockery. The real unbleached invective is reserved for places like here: https://www.earcandles.net/ and even worse hucksterism here: https://www.rainbowcrystal.com/atext/pyramid.html

There are zillions of these websites peddling magnets, quartz rocks, and do-it-yourself time travel devices (now with 20% more pyramid power!).

I understand caveat emptor, but I dislike dishonest folks, far more than the naive folks who frequent these places.

My criticism here wasn't even that EMF radiation is/isn't harmful, but that this sort of absurdity wouldn't make a difference regardless.

Of course, it's relevant that I've read absolutely zero remotely convincing properly conceived scientific studies which show any harm whatsoever from EMF radiation-- but that argument has been well documented in other forum posts ad naseum, so I won't re-tread that ground any further here...

My issue is with the internet snake-oil salespeople, of which this is clearly one.
