Hi Teri. I don't *need* any kittens right now, but just wanted to urge you to ask for a spay/neuter deposit when you send your kittens out the door. Any responsible adopter will be happy to comply, as those concerned about overpopulation of dogs/cats will be delighted that you care enough to ask for a deposit. You can hold the deposit for 3 months, then after proof of spay/neutering, you can refund the deposit. I cannot think of a nicer way to show concern for our over surplus of cats/kittens/dogs/puppies than to ask for a deposit on your kittens. Were I looking for a kitten (we just lost our 15 year old cat to lung cancer) I would choose one who came from a caring individual who indicated concern for the over abundance of cats in our world by doing preventive actions.

Amen Barbara!
There are thousands and thousands of kitties in Sonoma County. Two unfixed cats and their offspring can create over 20000 new cats in 5 years. The numbers are staggering.
The amount of feral cats and cats not being properly cared for in Sonoma is staggering as well.
Please, please, please DO NOT purposely breed your cats. Please, please, please make sure your cat is spayed or neutered. There are low cost options for spay / neuter out there.
Please - I am begging you - please do not let those kittens out of your home if they are not spayed or neutered. Make the new owners pay for it, but make sure it is done. Cats can be speutered as young as 8 weeks easily. Get it done now - please!
If you have the yearning to be around really young kittens and think breeding your cat is the solution to that consider volunteering instead. Organizations like Forgotten Felines and other local shelters always need foster parents for all the thousands unwanted kittens.
