Wanted: info about health insurance for preexisting conditions

Hi Wacco BB. Some time back - eight or nine months ago - I posted a request for any information wacco-ites have about obtaining health insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions. I received some really helpful responses, which I now can't find.

Some time back I posted a request for any information wacco-ites have about obtaining health insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions. I received some really helpful responses, which I now can't find.

I am dealing with the same issue and just talked with Greg McDonald, a health insurance specialist, in Santa Rosa. He was well informed and very helpful. Here is a summary of the conversation I had with him. There was more to it, but basically you will need to apply to BS, BC or Kaiser and get rejected. Once you have a letter of declination you can persue these other options.


He said my choices for insurance are:
small group guaranteed issue through a business
MRMIP a guaranteed issue plan of insurance issued to people who have been rejected for insurance.
HIPAA for people who have used uip their cobra benefit
