My friends Barbara and Dan, a married couple, are disputing about whether Phoebe Snow is or was blind or at least vision-impaired. Barbara says she saw Phoebe live 20 years ago and Phoebe seemed blind--had to be led to the stage, wore dark glasses, etc. But she can find no source of info to verify, so Dan's getting a laugh at her expense. She asked me if I knew, and I'm passing the question on to Waccodom.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

I saw Phoebe Snow with her amazing band (with opener David Pomeranz - a truly great musician) at Chapman College in The City of Orange a little over 20 years ago. She didn't seem blind, didn't wear dark glasses and made eye contact with the audience.

Perhaps she had been to an ophthalmologist and had her eyes dilated before the concert your friend went to?

She was a brilliant musician and performer and her recordings were top quality for the day. Makes me want to dig out the old vinyl.

She had many tragedies in her life. It's way too bad. She should have been one of the greats.
