Oh, come on. Fear and hysteria have always been a tool to control.
Piffle. They want to know what I think, read what I write, listen to what I say, come on. Bring it! :2cents:

I think Ron Paul is a screaming freaking nut case, and actively evil...so whether or not I might agree on the the 'emerging surveillance state,' I can't get around the Ron Paul is a squeezy asxwipe factor...
Sorry.
Oh yeah, also, he is horribly derivitive :-) See, re, the panopticon:

A couple of years ago we were talking about this as a theme for a party: a huge warehouse, a maze, a labyrinth. One way mirrors, hidden video cameras, monitors, play-back, echo chambers.
People would wear wrist bands with secret and random information coded on it. This would trigger sensors at entrances of rooms, connected with loudspeakers that would announce the bearers with details about who they were, their lives, their desires.
There would be elements of Kafka's Castle, bureaucracy, interrogation, recording. Readings of the Patriot's Act, showings of Osama bin Laden's videos.
All this made possible by the same technology that brings us wi-fi. :):
It has come to nothing as of yet, but it would be a great event, a $100/p. for 200 people??
https://www.mediaeater.com/cameras/ is a great website about the increasing numbers of surveillance cameras in New York City.
"iSee is a web-based application charting the locations of closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance cameras in urban environments. With iSee, users can find routes that avoid these cameras ("paths of least surveillance") allowing them to walk around their cities without fear of being "caught on tape" by unregulated security monitors."

The Surveillance Camera Players are doing some really awesome work around this:

O-o-okay... 1.) I don't understand how a description of a centuries-old prison design "derives" to pointing to recent legislation. Interesting article, but irrelevant. Also, why would derivation be horrible?
2.) "... a screaming freaking nut case, and actively evil...---...squeezy asxwipe factor..."
Can you offer any proof, or at least a little verifiable evidence to justify this kind of low grade name-calling?
