I have allot of hair I am getting ready to shed for the summer. I have heard there are a few places around town that will cut your hair for free and take the hair if it is a certain length. Mine is around ten inches and to die for… peace…

I donated my hair to this organization after partner died of cancer....I simply mailed the hair to them. www.locksoflove.org/donate.html (https://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html)

Yeah, Locks of Love is great. Kids with medical hair loss get to wear your hair. I got mine cut off for free at Great Clips for Hair in Montgomery Village. They cut it for free if you're donating to Locks of Love and they send it in for you.

But you may need to grow yours out a little more before you donate, Mykil. The part they cut off to donate, which is likely to just be the ponytail, must be at least 10 inches. So 10 inches total hair-length isn't quite enough, as some of it is left behind in the cutting process and only trimmed away bit by bit; those trimmings can't be used.

P.S. Very sorry to hear of your partner's demise, Russ. FWIW, my condolences.
