I recently visited 826 Valencia in San Francisco and am quite impressed by their imaginative, creative writing and ESL programs for (and books by) students, ages 6-18. The pirate store up front is very cool too. People in other cities around the USA have picked up on the idea and are sponsoring similar projects.
Through the once upon a school project, they are encouraging other communities to start similar programs linking community members, teachers, students and families.
Sonoma County has a high per capita of adult writers - is this something the adults would like to share with children? Is this something that our local children might need? Something you'd like to learn more about because it plain "feels good"?

What do you think?
Transformative partnerships...?
