The Oil It Needs A-Changin'

Come gather 'round people wherever you park
and admit that your lubricant's dirty & dark
and you gapped your plugs wrong and you can't get a spark
your transmission is barely engaging
so get out your tools and come lend a hand
'cause the oil it needs a-changing
Come truck drivers, bus drivers, R.V. drivers too
Every Buddhist & Baptist and gear-jammin' Jew
unpack your sockets - you know what to do
your radiator is overheating
your thermostat's stuck and your coolant's turned brown
and the oil it needs a-changing
There's honest mechanics and some are dead wrong
they'll say your compression is not very strong
your rings are worn out and your car won't last long
the repair shop your name will be paging
so get out your checkbook if you can't lend a hand
'cause the oil it needs a-changing
The old wrecking yard has its tales of neglect
the dismantling crane is fully erect
if you fail to maintain it's what you can expect
your finances will need re-arranging
you'll need a new ride now the old one is through
'cause the oil it needed changing

your eyes have grown weak your reflexes have slowed
