Djin Ja-Rajahs
by Stephen D. Gross

Djin Ja-Rajahs died today
(she dance wi' Freda Stare)
In India the Bengalese
slick back their thick black hair
A.P. called her "vivacious,
compelling, loved and spunky"
Bugliosi loved Lugosi
(the latter was a junkie)
In '40 won an Oscar
she made the blood to boil
"Dan Quayle", said old Lloyd Bentsen
"Sir, you're no Kitty Foyle"
I saw her in the Chronicle
"appearing at a party"
She looked both drained and puffy
she hummed the theme from "Marty"
She died of Natural Causes
(those sweet words seem to please us)
I think she moved to Westwood
to cut a rug with Jesus
Her ashes caught a zephyr
they danced a mad Fandango
a cloudless sky roared thunder
God whispered, "Time to Tango"
