I apologize to the Wacco community for using offensive and insulting language in my posts.

It is not my intention to earn people's hostilities, quite the contrary. I have a strong tendency to use brief or worse language to express an opinion on an issue for which I feel intense passion and I will curb this from now on.

Sincerely,

Edward

Awhile back you promised us to reveal how to tell a lie.
Is this it?
Is there more to the story since you are still calling yourself God.......................

You got me again, Ms Terry. You're just like a district attorney. Although I would say that an atheist, such as myself, calling himself 'god' is more than just a lie. It's more like a cynical and ironic joke but not even that completely explains it.

Thanks for your watchful eye,

Edward

No, Ed, this time I think you found yourself!
You were able to hear what I was saying.
Bravo!

Simply to express my opinion. But at the same time, when I use strong language then the consequence is that people focus on being offended and overlook what I was trying to say. That's a lose-lose dynamic.

That's interesting that God would say I don't exist. Can you explain that? Or are saying so simply because I stated it myself already?

Edward

Oh, brother. I know the passion, and can respect it as well! One solution, I unsuccessfully attempt, is to use MORE words, and even flowery ones. Of course that movie "Night at The Museum" with Adam Sandler, had some great lines, none of which were swearing. Mickey Rooney called that guy "Butterscotch", among other things, but it sure sounded like swearing to me.
Stay strong, dude. It ain't easy. :2cents:

Sorry, Mykil, I'm not budging on being 'bi' (it's not a choice but even if it was, I would have a right to choose).

By the way, I heard that a new movie starring Sean Penn as San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Milk) just finished its filming the other day and will be out in cinemas soon. Harvey Milk was murdered for being a 'faggot' and a 'pervert' and an ungodly man or thing by another supervisor, Dan White, if you can believe that because the murderer's surname is iconic. The hypocritical and deeply religious assassin also killed the immensely popular Mayor of SF, George Moscone (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Moscone). This tragic crime of bigotry, hatred, prejudice, homophobia, and religiously motivated intolerance took place in 1978. I will never forget it.

Expressing myself without the insults is a good start. There are always acceptable exceptions, though. Using more words, possibly 'flowery' ones will work in some situations.

I like the idea of calling someone 'butterscotch.' I think that if someone said that to me, the insult would initially be lost to me because it might appear subtle as opposed to calling me a motherfucker, son of a bitch, cocksucker (which I'm sure some on this list said underneath their breath or even out loud while reading my posts at home).

:2cents: I don't understand Edward... I went to the site you provided on George Moscone. And went further down and read about the:
Assassination

Late in 1978, Dan White (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_White) resigned from the Board of Supervisors. His resignation meant that Moscone would choose White's successor, and thus could tip the Board's balance of power in Moscone's favor. Recognizing this, those who supported a more conservative agenda talked White into changing his mind. White requested that Moscone re-appoint him to his former seat.
Moscone originally indicated a willingness to do so, but more liberal city leaders, including Milk, lobbied him against the idea, and Moscone ultimately decided not to re-appoint White. On November 27 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/November_27), 1978 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1978), White went to San Francisco City Hall to meet with Moscone and make a final plea for re-appointment. When Moscone refused to yield, White shot and killed Moscone, then went to Milk's office and shot him dead as well.
Dianne Feinestein, President of the Board of Supervisors, was sworn in as the city's new mayor and in the following years would emerge as one of California's most prominent politicians.
White later turned himself in at the police station where he was formerly an officer. Years later White confessed to having premeditated on the killings, and also confessed to planning to shoot two others as well, one being Assemblyman Willie Brown, who later became Mayor of San Francisco. The term "Twinke Defense" has its origins in the murder trial that followed, in which Dan White was convicted of the lesser crime of manslaughter.

You said:"This tragic crime of bigotry, hatred, prejudice, homophobia, and religiously motivated intolerance took place in 1978."

As I understood it according to Wikipedia that Dan White killed him because he wanted his seat back. And that everyone else speculated same as your conclusional words...above.

I get that from this info:White was angry that Moscone refused to re-appoint him to his just-resigned Board of Supervisor's seat, and that Milk heavily lobbied against the re-appointment. Milk was (according to Time magazine) "the first openly gay man elected to any substantial political office in the history of the planet", leading to speculation from within the LGBT (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT) community as well as media and political circles that his assassination was a hate crime (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_crime).

Well, that's an opinion, which I respect. I still believe that White acted from a combination of reasons that include primarily:
He was intensely homophobic.
He wanted his old job back and took revenge against those he felt were responsible (instead of applying to his reactionary self the tired, old conservative adage of taking personal responsibility for your circumstances and actions, e.g. 'You made your bed now sleep in it').
He was racist against ultra liberal Italian Americans such as mayor Moscone.
His conservative religious background taught him that gays are perverts who will burn in hell and found Milk to be intolerably repulsive and blew him away (which must have given him a perverted psychotic pleasure, like the Germans killing Jews).
He was in financial desperation because of his failed business (I think it was a donut shop or something like this).
Lack of sleep.
And other reasons (the Twinkie argument is totally unacceptable, or in any case not an excuse for a double homicide. The Twinkie B.S. got him off with a mere five year sentence instead of life without parole, which is what he deserved).White's generalized bigotry is unquestionable, although your skepticism is certainly welcome. The reactionary murderer was essentially motivated by bigotry and his failed business, financial ruin, and denial of getting his old job back were simply the detonating factors.

Do you know what happened to White? He served his five years, got out of prison, tried to build a normal life, and a few years later committed suicide because he could not live with himself. Good riddance. I wish all bigots would do the same thing.

Yes, I do I guess I kinda did alot of reading about this case. I agree with you, that it was good that he killed himself, because what he did there is no good excuse and just because you are friends with the Police dept and such it doesn't make sense for them to pat him on the back and welcome him friendly like after what he did. But that's their history I guess. That is why I think he got off so easily when he was tried.
Yes, I am rather optomistic, try to stay positive, and that gets harder and harder as situations arise.

Since I didn't talk to him and didn't even know him I can not factually say what was going through his head. Be it because of his bigotry or his great desire to have his job back.

Lorie,
As a born & bread 'Frisco boy, about 30 y/o then, I recall well what occurred. What you read was darn close to the truth. The "spin" about homophobia was simply PC and had nothing to do with the real deal. I recall well, when asked "why", White simply said because Milk "scoffed" at him, in public. During one of the Board of Sups meeting Milk resigned and then asked, publicly, for consideration on coming back. Milk scoffed.......a few days later.....tragedy.
I know I stand near alone in saying the above, about "homophobia" being the reason, but no, it wasn't.

It was a busy time. A couple of years earlier we had the Zodiac murders, and the Zebra killers were running wild all over the place! After Milk was murdered the Hell's Angels put out a poster "Dan White for President"....hell of a time!

Furthermore, Dianne Feinstein will always have my eternal disrespect and ingratitude. The bitch allowed thousands of young, beautiful, gay men go into the bathhouses and contract HIV/AIDS. Some begged her to close down the bath houses during her mayorship because of what was suspected as the way of transmission. She adamantly refused. Money talks and.......so sickness, death, and disease rampaged our city.
As far as I am concerned Dianne Feinestein is a capital bitch that should be hung right on the corner of Castro and Market simply for allowing the above.

Well, gee, I don't know. Is it not ok to be intolerant of intolerance? How about the idea of zero tolerance? Or did I slide a little here and use rough language or concepts again? Maybe there's a 12 step program for addiction to overly abrasive verbal communication? I guess that my statement is a fantasy of all bigots in the world committing suicide, is it not? That might leave the world only with a few million people alive out of the six billion alive now.

I was in jr high school at the time. And when in jr high school not a whole lot touches you. But during these times there was ALOT of stuff going on and I remember some of it.

There is just no controlling what people do.

I remember I liked Harvey Milk because of what he stood for. He touched me. And I was sad when this happened to him. At that time, I thought it was good Diane could take over being a woman and all. But that was before I knew more about her. I too, don't think she did anyone any favors... now.

I have heard the lame excuse of the bathhouses before and IT is lame. In my opinion the whole campaign with the TV commercials with the “COME OUT OF THE CLOSET “ was to blame. IT was like a free for all and in the gay community with there extremely aggressive advertising. This was to blame. If you are trying to put blame on Diane you are just as bad. Did you guyz forget that you all really put those commercials on TV? And this was the upraise and the guy mans coming out party right in the middle of San Francisco? It’s easy to place blame and if you place blame on Diane [I HATE THE BITCH TOO] than you have to place blame on others too! She was not the only issue and if you don’t understand this you are just as bad as her!!! I really wanted to put commercials on the TV too! They would have said go back in the closet and come out one at a time!!!! MORONS!!!!!!

LOL Touche'. You hit the nail on the head. We either agree to disagree as a society, or bigotry will take this nation down. Free speech has already been taken away, calling some speech "hate speech". So what's the problem with "hate speech"? It hurts someone's feelings? The same 'speech' will be said privately if not publicly, so IF there were some kind of tragic outcome, as "no hate speech" supporters claim, it will happen. There IS no tragic outcome, there IS no conspiracy against anyone, but now, there IS no freedom of speech in America. Ooo, someone might not like what I say and call it "hate speech". Ridiculous. But I digress...
