I thought your tittle was the best oxymoron I've seen in a while.

HOW TO KILL ANTS PEACEFULLY

but to add to it; an environmentally friendly way to kill ants

WOW!!!

you should be writing for the Bush administration.

Hi, We have had success by mixing 20 mule team borax (available at longs) with water and sugar. Put it where the ants are coming in and they will take it back to their nest. Pretty soon they disappear. Borax is a natural mineral and far less toxic than Raid. Good luck --Carol Mitchel

Get some Boric acid powder, which is not dangerous to handle, mix it half and half with sugar to attract the ants.
I like to put it in medicine bottle caps, mix it with water so that it has the consistency of cream, and put it in their path. It won't take long for the scouts to alert the workers that the feast is available. After they take it back to the nest and everybody eats some, there will be no more ants after a couple of days. Sort of like terrorists poisoning our water supply....
I call it a beach party for the ants because they love to swim in the stuff, and you will find a lot of them around the inside of the bottle cap like folks at the beach, except most of them are dead, not sunbathing!
To keep your dog from eating the bait you need to choose your location carefully....top of the kitchen counter is fine. For ont attack I made a little cardboard angle shelf and taped it to the wall next to the ant trail and they "loved it to death"!
The Boric Acid powder is at drug and hardware stores, and you only need a teaspoon for each bottle cap. 1 or 2 bottle cap "beaches" stragetically placed will do the job.
Good luck!
Bob

Good morning:

I noticed your desire to "peacefully" kills the ants in your home.

I try my best to try to live with "pests" and have found a way to let ants do their thing but not bother me.

I put a small amount of left over food in a bag and put it in my kitchen somewhere away from everything I use. They go to it and stay away from other areas. It's sort of like feeding my cats. I have a spot for them and their food bowls.

Just like cleaning my cat's bowls, I empty the ant's food bag every day and replenish it.

Have you tried solar power? Not only effective and enviromentaly friendly,it's a great way to slow down and become totally in the moment and at peace, first you have to find the point of entry outside, then position yourself between the little buggers and the sun, take a magnifier and focus on the subject, with a little practice you'll be giving 'em a suntan they'll never forget! Clean and effective, with no messy clean up!

I don't know how to kill ants but heard that if you take a piece of chalk (that kids use on the sidewalk) and wherever you find them coming into your place at, draw a line in front of their entry and they will not cross the chalk line. I hope it might help.

A very peaceful way to kill ants, is Ant Stakes. Available at most hardware stores. Easy. Clean. Convenient.

draw them out but not kill

they die period

An alternative to killing them is to find where they are coming into your house and put a little honey or sugar there. They will quickly find it and leave the house. If you feed them outside, they will stay outside.

I have never tried the chalk line that someone mentioned, but I do something similar: I paint a line with a smal drop of dish soap. They back off immediately when they encounter it. Of course now you've got some inside as well as out. But there are only a few and they somehow wend their way out without any trouble.

There is no way to kill them peacefully. You can work at feeling peaceful inside.

However here are some alternatives:
Talcum powder will stop them. Vinegar kills them.

But before applying killing measures see if you can find where they are coming into your house or apt. Use spackle, caulking compound, plastic wood puddy to seal the hole or seam where they are coming in. I did this in a place where I lived for 10 years. Within the first year I never had a problem with ants after I sealed all the holes.
