Dear Friends,

I write to you in the hope of manifesting a creative solution for a
potential community resource. This past year, Petaluma's El Dia de los
Muertos organizing committee held several fundraisers to pay for the
materials needed for a 32 foot by 32 foot stage for one of our events. We
thought that we had a free place to store this humongous stage. Well, it
turns out that we don't and we need to find a space very very soon. (by the end of
November!)
Some other non- profits have already shown interest in using the stage,
and it is my sincere hope that as a community we can find a place to store
it so that it can be used as a community resource for many
different organizations. Can you help?

Here are some specs on the stage:

-the stage is 32 feet by 32 feet
-it currently is about 20 inches off the ground, supported by a very
sturdy wood frame
-the stage can be used in smaller increments such as 16 feet by 16 feet;
the plywood tops that are the stages' surface are in 4 foot by 8 foot
sections
-storage needs are a DRY 8 foot by 16 foot space with high ceilings - in
the future it would be possible to utilize a metal frame for the
stage (about $800 to purchase the metal). This would raise the stage to
3 or 3.5 feet and drastically reduce the set up and breakdown time as
well as the necessary storage space
-TO RENT A STAGE THIS SIZE WOULD COST $2,560.00! (so far we have spent
about $1,200 for materials, we could add the metal and still be below
what it would cost to rent it for one event!)
- The stage was built by the fabulous Steve Dyer and Mark Medeiros

Please contact Kat Lilith if you have any ideas or comments and please
feel free to forward this email.

Thanks so much,
