COMMUNITY CAR AT YOUR DOORSTEP
Dear and darling west county community,
I am offering a large and capable station wagon to various needs of the community. If you need only occasional use of a car, or to do some carpooling here and there, or would like to ride with others to the thrift store, the plant nursery, or anything else you need to do, send me an email and let’s make use of this existing resource.
The car is an 80’s “land yacht,” a big Mercury wagon. It gets decent gas mileage, and is very safe on the road. It can carry five people very comfortably, and could ferry eight if necessary with its little back jump seats. An entire sheet of plywood will fit in with the back seat down.
Put on your thinking cap, fire up your imagination, and tell me your ideas for using this resource in the most sustainable way possible. We can share gas and people can contribute small amounts to keep it maintained. Proper insurance for this use will be researched and obtained. A few extra drivers can be added to the policy.
Here are some possible uses:
Taking five people (instead of one) to Trader Joe’s.
Thrift Store Rounds: Bring things to drop off and take 2-3 hours to find your new treasures.
Take a bunch of drummers to the beach.
Ride to Trathen’s sustainability tours.
Ride to mushroom gathering days.
