I took a few classes to see what was up with it and found the fanatical nature of these Scientologists I know, interesting. I was never banned because as a potential recruit my making a commitment was what the group was interested in at the time. I enjoyed the classes which were common sense in some areas and a tad bit bogus in other areas. Just like any religion, right. I also allowed Mormon missionary boys to attempt to convert me in high school. Curious then and now, about religion, spirituality, how things are put together and work as a whole. It would be really COOL if we could take the BEST from every conceived religion and intermingle these, and make the perfect spiritual system that would include everything and everyone, with no binding, without judgement.

Natasha,
Your beautiful idea was expounded by Thomas Merton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Merton). But when he died accidentally, religious leaders and people in general said it was an act of God, punishing him for sending the wrong message. His efforts in achieving what you posted receded, tragically. His ideas were quickly gaining ground and worldwide popularity in 1968, the year he died. So much so, that the place of his death was in Thailand, where he was speaking and explained how he integrated the main ideas of the eastern philosophies with those of Christianity and other major religions from western civilization.
Thanks for your post,
Edward
