How do I transfer files, etc. to a new PC?

Just got a new tower with more ram but I've never transferred files and stuff over to a new pc before.

I have a lot stored on a USB Port.....not much more room on it tho.

I know how to reinstall AVG, Spybot, Eusing Registry Cleaner, etc...

A little confused about exporting bookmarks but I think I can figure it out.

I was going to download all My Documents to a CD and then reload them.

Am I missing anything? New (used) tower has Windows XP and Google Earth....do I need to clean it out first with some of the above software?

Any clues would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's a clue:

'crossover network cable'

You'll need to attach this to both your machines

Then enable file sharing.

Once this is done, you'll be able to see your old pc on the new one in explorer.
