I have a few questions regarding these puppies, please. You say the father is AKC. What exactly does that mean? ("Papers" do not guarantee the health or temperament of a dog). People are creating "designer dogs" and calling them AKC Registered. Also, what is the mother's heritage? I assume she is not a purebred dog? Have you had the pups examined by a veterinarian for Patella Luxation, a problem common to Chihuahuas and possibly preventable if one knows what to look for. (These little tykes like to jump up, causing joint problems). Is there a history of Hydrocephalus in either of the parents? Have any of the grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. suffered from Trachea Collapse or seizures?

As Chihuahuas tend to have more problems than larger breed dogs I hope you will be honest and upfront with any potential buyers. I also hope you will take them back if the new owners are unable to keep them for any reason in the future. A Leg Up Rescue is full of cute Chihuahuas waiting for a second chance at life.

Hurray for you guys. Why people need to produce more "pets" is beyond ignorance...it is selfish. I adopted my wonderful Chihuahua from A Leg Up and she is my very very best friend. A delightful little bundle of love. She was an adult when we met and it was love at first site. Please contact a rescue group to adopt. You won't be disapointed. You can also foster and get to know your dog prior to formalizing adoption...as long as you measure up. Of course, if you don't, maybe you should reconsider and go for a plant.
