Happy New Year Everybody!
New Years is a great time to take stock of the past year and to set an intention for the year that has just begun.
So how was your year? What role has it played in your life's arc? Where are you headed? Why?
Let's keep this personal, about your life, not world issues.
I'll start. Last year was a hard but necessary one for me. As you might imagine, WaccoBB.net is a huge part of my life. After many years of running it in one form or another as a volunteer and then as full-time non-revenue community service business, I made the first steps towards turning this into a economically & energetically sustainable enterprise for me and the community.
Besides the technical challenges, questions from the community and struggles to find the right balance on many issues (both monetary and not), I still had my own concerns about the economic viability and whether it was OK with me (and you!) to make money from this community service. My survival chakra was quite activated and it triggered a personal crisis.
I'm glad to say I've come through it (with a little help from my friends and angels, most notably, Mrs. Wacco  ) and can once again attest to the truth of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"!
I finally have a fairly clear picture of how this can all work and I feel good about it and I think you will too! I'm looking forward to joyously exploring the possibilities of an online/locally based community with shared values. After years of following my calling without knowing where it would go and how it would work out, I finally feel a sense of trust that it's all going to be OK, in fact it is/will be great!
So my intention, that I imagine I share with many of you, is to live from a place of trust, putting fear aside, follow my passion and revel in the creativity that it inspires! I'm looking forward to an fabulous and exciting New Year!
Part of what WaccoBB experiment is about is to see how personal and intimate we can be in a community of 5,000! I think the technology makes it possible to take it pretty far! So how about you? Please share with us your reflections and intentions as we stand on the brink of a New Year! This would be a good time for our many lurkers to come forth in addition to our many regular contributors!
