The people of Western Washington near Olympia and Tumwater are really suffering, especially those in the coastal areas. My own place was demolished by hurricane force winds, then flooded out. Thank God I have a place to stay in California. I am packing up everything I can get my hands on, blankets, sleeping bags, coats, cleaning supplies, small heaters, non-perishable food into my van and driving up to Mason County Washington as soon as the roads are good enough. There are 3 indian reservations around the hardest hit areas, they subsist on fishing, fireworks sales and 2 small casinos (nothing like the ones in California), their homes were in rough shape to begin with. Those families not on reservations had already hit rock bottom with loss of jobs in the timber industry. FEMA dollars will not come through till the president declares a state of emergency, even then, as we have learned with Katrina, it will be very slowly.

Please contact me if you can donate items that I can bring with me and distribute to the tribal centers and community centers in Mason County, Washington. If I can gather more than I can pack in my van, I will draft others with large, covered vehicles to help. It will be wet, and the roads are very rutted, windy and muddy.

Thank you.

I've got a sleeping bag you can take; what's your phone number?

Hi~
I have a couple of sleeping bags, a camping stove, some other bedding, some clothing----I don't know what else you/they need, but I've been in the process of de-cluttering, so maybe some lamps? small tables? Please let me know what's needed & how we can arrange to get it to you. I live in Sebastopol, off Hwy 116 S near Bloomfield Rd.
Smiles,
