What if your primary purpose here on earth is to amplify the luminosity of your consciousness, and the rest of your activities serve merely as the training ground? (Taken from the IONS Institute of Noetic SciencesDecember newsletter as well as the following list of helpful hints that appeals to me in this time and place);

1. Cease spreading yourself so thin. You have nothing to prove. You
never have and you never will. Only your mind and ego has had you
believing otherwise.
2. Be true to yourself in every action you take regardless of opinion.
Be certain to discern the difference between being true to your true
self (your heart and soul), not true to your ego, not true to your fears
and not true to what someone else wants of you. This is one of
humanities greatest struggles and once relieved of it "perceived
struggles" will dissolve.
3. You must learn to be more gentle and compassionate with yourself.
You are being birthed into a new reality and will not arrive before you
are due.
4. Call upon and fully connect with your multidimensional,
intergalactic family on a more regular basis. They desire a stronger and
more consistent relationship with you.
5. You claim to have trust issues and we agree, however it is trust with
yourself that you have issues with. You tend to override your innate
wisdom causing you to expend vast amounts of energy later to recover.
6. Stop taking life so seriously. It will take care of itself if you
take care of yourself. (I was told then that I had seemed to Master
gratitude but not joy and this was conflicting.)
7. Embrace more fully and deeply one of your favorite quotes: "I found
God in myself and I loved Her, I loved Her fiercely"(by Ntozake Shange.)
What, I was asked does that look like in action to you?
8. Each morning consciously invoke clarity from the highest Light into
your heart. Do not make one single choice without checking with your
heart first and last.
9. Break all bonds daily with discordance that has been created in your
life consciously or unconsciously with or without your permission. Use
the power of your spoken word with full authority.
10. Practice repeatedly the methods of staying in a state of neutrality
and use them consistently. This is key to over-ride dualist tendencies
and sustain your energy.
11. The last thing I heard was: You are doing better than you think!

What if instead, we have no purpose here at all, and are accidental and very temporary manifestations of the unfolding of the laws of physics, natural selection and the combination of genetics and personal history that shapes us?

Seems like many of these suggestions would still be good ones...but we'd also be less egotistical about it all. A lot of these points seem to be based in pretty arrogant assumptions about the significance of humans--both as individuals and as a species.

Maybe if we "stop taking life so seriously", we can also stop thinking we're so dangity important?

What if instead, we have no purpose here at all?
Or, at least, what if our only purposes are those that we set for ourselves?

A lot of these points seem to be based in pretty arrogant assumptions about the significance of humans--both as individuals and as a species.--MarkFor me, one of the great mysteries of life is why people think that the universe should be organized in such a way as to fill the emotional needs of humans. We are on one of eight planets circling one of a hundred billion stars in one of a hundred billion galaxies scattered across more than 13 billion light-years of space. There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on all of the beaches of the world. But somehow we--we little earthlings--are at the center of the whole production, and the universe is supposed not only to pay attention to us but conform itself to our needs. I'm used to hubris on a mere earthly scale, but to see hubris attempt to take over the entire universe is something that I'll never get used to.

What if your primary purpose here on earth is to amplify the luminosity of your consciousness
What if one of your primary purposes here on earth is to write sentences that actually mean something? I do, in fact, have a consciousness, but I'm not going to see it as luminous until you explain exactly what you mean (if anything).

Be true to yourself in every action you take . . ."
I like Shakespeare's version better: "To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as night follows day, that thou canst not be false to any man." (I'm remembering this off the top of my head.)

Call upon and fully connect with your multidimensional,
intergalactic family on a more regular basis. They desire a stronger and
more consistent relationship with you.
The moment I start hearing from my "multidimensional, intergalactic family" I'm going to check myself into the nearest emergency room. Such hallucinations are very often symptoms of major mental illness or drug use.

Stop taking life so seriously. It will take care of itself if you
take care of yourself.
This is a fanciful middle-class notion. People on the streets of East Oakland or in the barrios of Los Angeles certainly know better. And I've lived in places where people were trying desperately to take care of themselves but were dying of malnutrition and preventable diseases.

Yes, it would be good to have a healthy suspicion about such things...

Oh, if only it were that easy!...

Yep!...It does help to take good care of yourself...But, as we know there have plenty of people throughout history minding their own business taking care of themselves when things out of their control began happening...Like invasions, diseases, bad weather etc...Little things like that...
