Michael Schlesinger is Professor of Atmospheric Sciences in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place><st1:PlaceType>University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName>Illinois</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>, Urbana-Champaign. Haroon Kheshgi is Advanced Research Associate for Corporate Strategic Research at the ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company. Joel Smith is a Vice President with Stratus Consulting Inc. in <st1:place><st1:City>Boulder</st1:City>, <st1:State>Colorado</st1:State></st1:place>. Francisco de la Chesnaye is Chief of the Climate Economics Branch for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and Vice President for Status Consulting Inc, <st1:place><st1:City>Boulder</st1:City>, <st1:State>Colorado</st1:State></st1:place>. John Reilly is the Associate Director for Research in the Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change, and a Senior Research Scientist in the Laboratory for Energy and Environment at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mitigating climate change is the balance between offsetting global warming by reducing GHGs and cutting back on global dimming by reducing air pollution (particulate matter). I hope the book provides strategies for reducing them by both individuals and companies.
