I think you as a programmer would have no problems supplying us with this toy and I am sure it would go to good use, keeping endless minds entertained to no ends on a constant level of useless thought and presence of the soul.

Who here would use such a tool if our Moderator just happened to put up a WaccoBB IM feature on this sight? I think for me it would give me a reason to wake every morning just knowing I would have someone to chat with when I get into work! LMAO!

If it worked via web - no download I'd holler on it once in a while. But since I have experience with moderating one of them uhhh from a moderator point - my heart is screaming don't do it!!!!! Thing ate up so much energy and then rules came into play and it went on and on with junk it created - ahhhhhgggggg. Sadly not everyone can play nice or wants to. So half of me is saying ya cool and the other half is saying glad its you and not me!

I could see how it would be nice, but also it has its problems, as shellebelle. I may get to it at some point, but there are bigger fish to fry at the moment. For now you can use the UnCensored category to chat away. You can also see who's online from our home page and see if the've listed an IM client.
Or perhaps, Mykil, you'd like to research a free web based multi-person chat. That way you could say (post) let's take this to IM and give the link. If there is something I/WaccoBB can do to support that, let me know.

Don't forget about 'Second Life', if you have a high speed connection and good graphics card. There you can IM, voice chat, and visit very artistic creations that residents have produced. It is truly an amazing 3D virtual world Internet place. There is ALWAYS someone there to talk to and they could be from anywhere in the world... most use English.

Going to an outside appliance is not what I had in mind! I was more thinking on the track of a community IM service were when you just happen to be on wacco, you see someone you want to talk to in real time and you can go into chat. Not yahoo or msn or anything of that nature. Something personal and comforting and here on wacco, no where else. I have all those other programs and really never use them just for the fact that they take up resources on my machine. I have seen other web pages where they try to use such a device that don’t seem to get much attention, yet there really is enough of us to justify Barry putting something up. When bRaggi gets a heat on and wants to argue with Willie and me at the same time we can do it. No one gets hurt and bRaggi wakes with a hangover where no one else gets hurt by the fact that nothing really was posted! LOL! Real time personalized wacco instant messenger is really what Barry needs to quit all the jibber jabber that he needs to delete and dispose of on a daily basic, cut the editing in half, making Barry a Happier Camper! Just a thought that has been with me for sometime, something I would like to see in the evolution process! Peace all!<o:p></o:p>

Well, since it's Thanksgiving and all (and I have a spare minute for a change) I put in a chat system! Really! It needs more integration, but its a good start! You'll be logged in as your WaccoBB.net username automatically. For now, there is a chat room for each category (General Community, WaccoTalk, etc.) They are not really connected to those categories (yet), they are just different rooms. When you first enter the chat system you'll be in the public room, you can then "get a room" if you like. :wink:

Note the chat dialog is not saved, searchable or moderated. If you see me (or others users) online on the bottom of the WaccoBB.net home page you can click on their username to goto their WaccoBB.net profile and send them an email inviting them to chat with you.
This is currently available to all users. In time it will become a Supporting Member feature.
Have fun! Please use this system when you just want to chat with one or more select users in real time. And don't forget to post publicly when you have something to discuss with the whole community!
