I would like to start making soap, and am looking for a local source for lye. I know it is used in bio-diesel. Can someone point me in the right direction? I really don't want to order this online, due to safety issues. Please do so privately, since it is also used in the production of other things, and I wouldn't want these makers to get a hold of this information.
I am in need of both Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) and Potassium Hydroxide (KOH)

I have been buying my lye at Essential Depot ( https://www.essentialdepot.com ) , its great for making pretzels, and I also use it to make soap in my spare time. Its pure and priced right, and dont forget to use the discount code "ship30" to receive an additional 30% discount on shipping. Check out the Vintage Lye pamplets at https://www.lyedepot.com ; its amazing all the things you can use lye for.
