Beginning a poetry project, based on my older poems and journal entries. I love all poems. To me poetry is the art of introspection. In other parts of the world, poets are harbigers of political change. Che and Pablo, writing to expose dictators and the mis-use of power, for those who had no voice. Lovers who chose to fight with the pen, corrupt systems to be overthrown. This is where I am, 20 Oct 1993

the answer comes, in the sweet lull of rain
cries of birds
high up, the cities sirens all maxed out
living hearts in emergency
sweep across fast asphalt
tires humming in the quickened rain
silence the voices
with "democracy" again

wife & the virgin. I am the
mother & the daughter.
I am she whose wedding is great,
and I have not taken a husband.
