What is the best way to clean one of these ? I was told I could put it in the large capacity washer at the laundramat. Anybody done this? thanks for your advice!! Louise
Hi Louise,
I have washed my Sheep Skins in the large capacity washers at the laundromat. I use Liquid lavender Pure Castle Soap (Whole Foods), cold water nad then I dry them for 15 minutes (low heat) and hang them outside for the remainder of the drying. Best to do on a very hot summer day. Good luck.

I washed mine, which is two sewn together, with my hose and some soap. Pure Castle is wonderful. I hand washed it like I would wash someones hair and then used the pressure of the hose to rinse out the soap. You do not want to use too much soap. The key is for it to dry thoroughly either outside by sun light or inside by the wood stove. Then you brush it . The only problem with the big washer is ,depending on the quality of your skin, it may fall apart. They like to be brushed often. Good luck.. There is lots of advice on line if you Google "How to clean a Sheepskin".
