I wanted to share my enthusiasm with you all, out there in Waccobbland about the wonderful Starlight Winebar and Restaurant. This restaurant isn't getting enough local support. It is owned by a lovely couple with two small children. They have a wonderful, dedicated staff waiting to serve our community amazingly creative and delicious food, wine selections and service in an authentic dining car from an old train,(right out of the scene in White Christmas were they sing "Snow."
It is lovingly decorated by the owners Mom with beautiful paintings of the wine country and lovingly collected antique ads originally promoting train dining cars. I have shared my love of this beautiful and charming place right on Hwy 12 in Gravenstein Station next to the Sebastopol Inn with many locals. The comment I hear most often is: Is that a restaurant? I thought it was just a wine bar.
Yes, they have an excellent wine bar. It is a great place to meet your friends after shopping, after work or for a special occasion, anniversary, or holiday dinner with the family. It makes me feel like I am being transported to another era that I missed out on. I to can pretend I am dining in the great train dining cars of yesteryear and imagine I am traveling to exotic destinations as I dine. The vintage music is great too.
The young and extremelly talented chief from New Orleans creates some of the most wonderful and delightful dishes I have had in years. He takes classics like Mac & Cheese, Pizza, Salads and makes them into masterpieces. His Sunday brunch" beignets" are better than the ones I had at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. They also have great deserts, all homemade.
Please support this local restaurant and treat yourself to a memorable lunch or dinner. I want to see local small business flourish in our community. Thanks
