alot of us pride themselves in being concerned about the planet and buying organic food.
the only problem is it all comes in plastic, even at the farmersmarket.
if you want to know what happens to your plastic check out the link below
this is five years old.

I was told about this many years ago by the crazy people that pick up trash along the beach, had a long conversation with them, they really enlightened me on the product. I was awestruck about the big plastic dump in the middle of the pacific and wondered what else plastics may be screwing with in our society? One thought was the decomposition of the products on our land in our air and even over our open spaces. I have come to my own conclusions that there is much more run off of water in recent years as a direct result of degrading plastic covering so much of our open fields. Open lands open everything. The micro decomposition of the plastic [sort of like a fine sand] causes less of the rain to saturate into the soils and just runs off the ground resulting in more runoff quicker water build up in our streams, kind of like our concrete jungles do. I don’t see thus as a problem as of now but really wonder where it will lead in the near future? I really try not to use plastic when getting all MY organic fruit veggies and everything. I alwayz ask for paper and most of the time try not to even get a bag! If I was a little more together I would get one of those stupid cloth bags and really be on the in of things going on! Have you seen any pictures on this phenomena, I would be interested in seeing them posted! I am sure we will be seeing more negative results on using plastics in the near future as well!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

here's a pic of the effects, apparently it is the size of a continent and way deep and growing day by day.
I'm looking for a pic from the sky

I checked out one of the links and was saddened by what I saw. I had been unaware. The photo of skeletal remains of albatross with his interior just filled with plastic was a shocker for me. I guess awareness is good though I am not sure how to approach such a large problem in order to help. me
