Does any one here have the problem I have with Firefox. It so often says MOZILLA FIREFOX not responding. Sometimes I can resolve it without restarting but that is often the only way I can get on with the project I am working on.

If so, do you know why this happens and how to fix it.

I find that the user discusssions on the Mozilla website are often helpful with problems with their software.

The problem might not be Firefox at all. It could be that your virus protection or firewall is delaying or blocking your access to certain sites. If you are confident that you are not going to a dangerous site, you can try turning off your protection and see if that resolves the problem. If so, you should be able to adjust the settings to stop blocking the sites in question while protecting you elsewhere.

Another possibility is that the sites in question are causing your computer to run a helper application that is getting bogged down, either because it is buggy or because the site is serving up some funky code that the helper application is trying to run.

If you are running Windows, you can check that by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up Windows Task Manager, then select the Performance tab, then go to a problem site and watch what happens to CPU usage. If it suddenly goes up to 100% and stays there for a long time, the problem probably has to do with Flash, Java, Java scripts, or some such add-on. If so, you can try updating those. Check back here for help with that if you need it.
