Hi! I tried to catch or trap the chickens abandoned along Santa Rosa Creek at Willowside road and was unable to except for one female chick who I found after her mother had been disappeared, probably eaten by a predator. I've had her since Sept. 23, I think she is about 5 weeks old. She has been living in my bathroom because I have to keep her away from my cats. I would be very grateful if someone who has chickens who would accept her could give her a home until next spring when I hope to be living where I can have chickens. When I get set up to keep chickens I would be willing to give a home to a rooster and a hen to keep my "Chickie" company. I have a bag of chick scratch for her and have also been feeding her fresh food. Barrie 570-1740

Hi, Barrie. I'll be glad to take the chick on a permanent basis. Once she got use to the family, I'd hate to tear her away. She'd have a good home. Safe. Contact via e-mail to let me know if I should call you. Also, if you find out where they roost or nest at night, you'd be able to pluck (no pun intended) them to safety rather easily. Best, Bill.
