Dear Conly,
My elderly parents have a dog in Santa Rosa who is sweet and goofy and looks like a mop with four legs. She is loyal and loves to be close to whoever is kind to her, and loves to play retrieve with her small plastic ball. She probably weighs around 40 pounds, is probably 3 or 4 years old; my parents adopted her from the Humane Society about 4 years ago and she was still a puppy.
Missy needs a good home, as my parents are just not strong enough or energetic enough to keep her and walk her, give her the attention she deserves. She is crate-trained, and often likes to retreat to her crate to hang out. I don't know that she has ever met a cat, so I could say that she's never met a cat that she didn't like  Since she is submissive, I would imagine that she'd do fine with a cat or two, as I've never seen her chase any birds or deer or anything in my parents' yard except her own ball. I had wanted to adopt her, but I have two 3.5 year old children (who get on well with her) and two black lab dogs who are too territorial to allow a third dog into our relatively small in-town yard, so I just can't swing it myself.
If you are interested in talking and getting together with my parents about Missy, please call me at 824-8478, and I'll put you in touch with my mom.
Thanks!
Good luck,
Martha
We are looking to add a dog to our house hold. We have been looking in the paper, the pound and among friends. We would like to find an older female, spayed of course, that does not have issues with Cats. We live on a quiet street in Santa Rosa where many neighbors walk their dogs, it would be good if she was well socialized. We are willing to go through what training is necessary. If you know of a dog in need of a home that fits this description please pass the info on to us.
