I am still in the research phase of starting a website and would appreciate some honest feedback about your experiences with PayPal and other merchant services. There are so many angry experiences from people posted on the web about PayPal there must be an alternative. I am looking for a service that is reliable and inexpensive.

I had an awful experience with PayPal. A customer of mine didn't recognize the payment he made to me when he saw it on his credit card bill, so he cancelled payment, as soon as I heard from PayPal it was cancelled I called him up and he immediately realized his mistake so he called his credit card company and told them the payment was supposed to have been made...
To make a long story short, it was over FOUR months before my PayPal account was credited with the money PayPal had deducted, even though they instantly deducted the money in the first place.
