It seems to me that WaccoBB would be doing ALL it's members a great service if it were to establish a hetrosexual singles forum. I can't count how many times I've read an ad for an event only to discover half way through it, that the ad is Yet Another ad for an exclusively hetrosexual singles gathering. This morning's ad just got to me... gender balance etc.... I'm not blasting singles or hetros, but ya know, I just want to stop reading the desperate pleas I'm subjected to darn near every day in Waccoville. Please give the single (straight) kids a forum of their own. You could call it something like... Matchmaker Matchmaker... make your own match!!!!!!!

May we all find and have all the love we need,

I actually took the time to read that post and I didn't find the words exclusively or heterosexual anywhere in it. It didn't look like there were any desperate pleas mentioned either except that the promoter hoped for gender balance (although the promoter isn't limiting attendance based on that). The ad was posted in the upcoming "Events and Classes" category which makes sense to me. Are you suggesting the only postings in that category should be for events welcoming homosexual couples? Perhaps only lesbian couples? Or for some folks' preferences, only for bisexual, polyamorous couples, triads and groups?

Maybe leaving the category open to posting of events and classes of all types makes sense.

May we all find and have all the love we need,

And may we all have access to the tools and methods available to everyone else to find people to love.

Oh, good idea, why not a Singles Forum with sub categories?
st8,bi,gay,lesbian,poly,transgender,mono,platonic whatever??? The forum could be called "Every Body's Wacoo Yenta".

And, excuse me, but seeking a 'gender balance' DOES imply, at least to me, that the the event is, indeed, geared toward heterosexual singles. I have yet to see a 'singles' event posted on WaccoBB that actually states that diversity is welcomed or sought.

Furthermore, when a NON heterosexual does post an event geared toward NON heterosexuals there are ALWAYS a few bashy comments for THAT. So, it's not that far fetched to assume that a 'gender balanced' event is NOT diversity friendly. This particular event only one example of many many single's postings with needs.

""""Are you suggesting the only postings in that category should be for events welcoming homosexual couples? Perhaps only lesbian couples? Or for some folks' preferences, only for bisexual, polyamorous couples, triads and groups?"""" (I'm assuming you are hetrosexual to even ask this question...)

No, I'm suggesting that there is a need for a "Singles" Forum. And, yes, a place for Singles events to be posted as well as the posts regarding... "Where are the single men? Why can't I get a date? Dippyhippy chick seeks????whoever!!!! etc.

I personally find the lonely hearts postings very painful to read. You may have noticed that there are a lot of them in Waccoville lately. What I am suggesting is a more aggressive approach to helping all these folks find what they are looking for.

That's it buddy... nothing more and nothing less...
