After watching https://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/index.html I have to ask myself, where do we go from here? What should we do? How do we live a life of peace when most of the people in power are so against it?
For myself, I plan to be the best human being that I can, but the question still remains...what about the rest of the world? What about the lies, all the people dying, all problems with the health care system?
What can we do to make this a better world to live in?

Promote peace, awareness, do our little things that help others. Don't loose hope, educate, keep an eye on opportunities to get involved.

The best shot we have right now, is to support Ron Paul for president. I'm serieus. There is a fast expanding, exciting movement going on, consisting of people from every political persuasion, in support of his message of freedom and personal liberty. Most people supporting Ron Paul have the same concerns you have and understand the urgency of getting an honest man in office whose goal it is to shrink the size of government and give us our fast eroding liberties back. Not to mention get us out of the war and return to a sound monetary policy. Oh, and abolish the personal income tax. I've never been very 'political', but I stand 110% behind him. He's very smart, sincere, honest and consistent. Check him out. Here are some links to get you going:
By the way, never mind the fact that he is running as a Republican. He ran as a Libertarian before (in 1988), and realizes he doesn't stand a chance a a third party candidate. In my view he has infiltrated the Republican party to fight the neocons.
Here you can find most of Ron Paul's writings:

It's all good, but make sure to check out his 'neo-conned' speech.
Ron Paul is a ten term congressman and has been a doctor (ob/gyn, delivered over 4000 babies) for 30 years.
The mainstream media has been trying to marginalize him. He's the candidate they don't want you to know about!

Haven't seen the movie but I can make a pretty good guess about what the theme might be.
I think the essential point to remember is that Life always was, always is, and mostly likely always will be, an Epic Struggle, perhaps briefly interrupted by delusions of apparent calm and stability. Some may say we've immersed ourselves in this Continuing Drama just for our own Grand Amusement and made it as interesting, dramatic, tragic and triumphant as possible just to challenge and entertain ourselves.
I like the analogy of an egg hatching. Birth is a crisis! If one focuses on the yolk...well, omigod, it's disappearing! It's being used up at an alarming rate! We're almost all out of it! Oooops! Oh yeah, there's the embryo. It's doing fine. That's what's been using up all the yolk!
Another example that always struck me is that growing up in the 1950s, there were all these wonderful nature documentaries coming out...many by Disney...the Everglades, the Great Plains, the Mojave, etc. They were riveting and although nature photography has evolved fantastically since...these were the first really beautiful, insightful nature documentaries made by human beings on film.
And at the precise moment they were being filmed, Nature was just starting to feel the real effects of post-World War II suburban development and the impact of the automobile, and new forms of devasting chemical pollution, etc. etc. So again, at precisely the same moment we had to technology to actually film, distribute and create this new awareness to the general public of what an amazing planet we were living on, we were simultaneously rapidly destroying it and using it up. Instant crisis/awareness zeitgeist! It was Stewart Brand, I believe, who also pointed out, that 1968, precisely the year when Paul Erhlich released The Population Bomb, was also the year when urban population growth rates actually began to decline!
So my suggestion is that as Humans living in this Instant Age, our great challenge is to instantly (almost!) adapt to the new "environments" we create and find creative ways of solving our problems. What drives many of us to despair that there is a lag time for many in being able to perceive, recognize and adjust their lifestyles to the new demands created by our "artificial" environmental and social constructs. Our political systems, social agendas, and internal wiring are much harder to change and alter than the external environments of our planet. And our Favored Nation may indeed be beginning to decline, fray, disintegrate, and "fall behind" in many unpleasant and disturbing ways because of these "resistant" factors. But again, which do you choose to focus on...the Yolk or the Embryo. A lot of people in a lot of places, are making new discoveries, altering social structures, and forging new pathways.
There is always the risk that we may blow it all up. It seems more likely these days that we would be declined to go out with a Whimper more than a Bang these but who knows. The same Forces that designed the Redwoods have written the outline to this little script we are playing out. Intelligent Design? Maybe. Maybe not. But surely Life, as Jeff Goldblum so dutifully pointed out in Jurassic Park, finds a way. There are great forces of Darkness at Play but Great Forces of Light as well. Bottom line is just to row your own boat, learn to be compassionate, fight the battles you are inspired to fight, and Trust the Process.
