Can anyone advise on where we can dump green debris? We have many piles around our property near Graton. Looking for efficient and economical place we can take it provided we can find someone with a truck. Just not sure what the options are these days. Thanks!

The county dump on Meecham Rd. off Stony Pt. has a business on site, Sonoma Compost. There is a fee but they will take it all and turn it into mulch. Once you find someone with a truck, make sure you also use a tarp during hauling, because not only could you be cited (stuff does blow out at 55mph) but they may not even allow you to dump an uncovered load.

You can, of course, turn it into a compost pile adding wonderful things to your soil later. You can also put it in the green debris can.

After speaking with a couple of well educated tree mavens, I've learned that transporting clippings can spread sudden oak death causing organisms. It can be spread on a breeze...it is suggested that clippers, mowers etc. be cleaned with bleach or alcohol before using at another location. sorry. Mindy

Hi there, dear community!
My first reply/posting.
I was just at Sonoma Compost to look at their garden mulches, compost, etc. after a friend/landscaper raved about their products. I just called them to see if they take green debris and they do. Since they're located at the dump on Mecham Rd you have to pay a flat fee of $14, or ask to have the load weighed and the cost might only be $5 to $10.
By the way, Sonoma Compost's prices are much lower than other compost companies and its organic.
