Hi Jill - I think it's great that you are looking for a compatible tree hugger friend, but unless it makes no difference if your new friend is 17 or 70, male or female or any other preference you might have, it's not fair to tree huggers everywhere who might get their hopes up and spend time and energy on a hopeless endeavor.

So, as someone else suggested in another thread, please be a little specific about what you're looking for.

Clancy~

Perhaps it does not matter to me whether the person is younger or older than me....perhaps it does not matter if they are male or female.

Love isn't about what's in front of your face, it's about what's in your soul and your heart.

Why do I need to be specific? I may enjoy suprises and getting to know someone.

Finally, there is no such thing as a hopeless endeavor. Meeting new people and taking chances to learn something new is what makes life worth living.

~Namaste~

I'm skeptical, but if true, it's extremely unusual and therefore still a good idea to state explicitly.

As for there being no hopeless endeavors, you obviously haven't approached very many people with romance in mind, and certainly not as a male of the species.

So then are you saying that's it's rather difficult to meet someone?
Is it really that hard to find someone?

can't you two just get together without all this public foreplay?

Finding people to love isn't hard to do, they're all around us. Finding a compatible partner who wants to love you back seems a bit more difficult, so being specific about who you are and the kind of person you're looking for might increase your odds. If nothing else, it will gently let people who fall outside your range of preferences (and you do have preferences) in a partner know not to get their hopes up.

It is easy to find "a someone", the trick seems to be being evolved enough to be attractive to "the someone" when they bump into your life.

Also, I agree with the suggestion of adding a photo to your profile. When I see a cute gal who has bright eyes and a warm smile my heart melts. Speaking only for myself (of course) I wouldn't flirt too much with any gal without ever having seen her ...
