Hello
I have a question about my cat. She likes to howl really loudly for long periods of time. Not always a problem for me , but I sometimes have overnight guests and it wakes them in the AM. She has no physical ailments, I've taken her to see a good Vet, she is fixed so its not heat. I'm not sure how the behavior started. She wandered onto my property starving a few years ago and was already an adult. She gets plenty of food water and love. Does any one have suggestions or knowledge of this behavior.

Many Thanks
Andrea

I have a cat who does that. She is fixed and when she does it she doesnt seem to be ill or hurt. I found out she does it because she likes to hear her own voice. So I wonder if that is part of the problem. My cat loves to meow in the bathroom, kind of like people singing in the shower.

I hope you find out what is wrong.

Jess

I have a fixed male cat who does this. I've learned he does it for a couple of reasons: he'll go about the house "singing" (especially at night) if there is a cat he sees outside; if the water bowl is low or the water is contaminated (with food or fur or ?); if the catbox needs "freshening up."
It's unlikely your cat is ill or you'd have other symptoms. Maybe she sees something outside?
