CITGO, the US vendor for Venezuelan gas, has been bought out by 7-11.
By September, all 7-11 stores will be selling gas from wherever they can get it the most cheaply.
That means instead of being buy gas whose sale benefits the poor of Caracas, the only gas available will be from companies whose sales harm the people of Darfur, Nigeria and various South American areas. Tank up while you can, and more importantly, ask the California Energy Commission to allow ethanol to be sold at the pump. There's a supplier in the area that doesn't grow corn to make ethanol but produces it all from agricultural waste. If they could sell it openly,
at the pump, and advertise, they would be in a better position to keep up a steady supply. Even conventional gasoline engines can run on at least 10% ethanol, which adds up to a lot.
