Thats nice but his stance on womens productive rights and stem cell research are not so progressive, check those out when you go to the site.

Actually, he feels that the federal government should stay out of these issues and therefore has voted against them.

Congressman Paul is also an OBGYN who has delivered over 4000 babies. This experience has left him personally opposed to abortion. But again, he feels that the federal government should stay out of it and that the decision should be at the state level, where the individual has more influence.
Dr. Paul is a strict constitutionalist, and votes against anything he feels goes against the constitution. He explains why lawmaking should be at the state and local level somewhere in the following 7 min clip:
