Ok. I thought I was the only one who got "ill struck" after Harmony Festival. I had to leave early on Sunday as a result!

Allergy/hay-fever symptoms

I am interested to know how many others in our local community may have felt this way or any other health symptoms after or during Harmony Festival.

I already know of 25 "out of area" folks who reported having ill health towards the end of Saturday and or Sunday evening as well as during the day.

Be Well & thanks Wacco

As you may or may not know, Sonoma County, and the Santa Rosa plains in particular, are loaded with allergen pollens from grasses, oak and other trees, as well as molds and such. They don't affect me when I am in an enclosed building, but when I get out in the open air with the wind blowing all that stuff around, I always get extreme hay-fever symptoms...even in my back yard. Happens every year to me at the Harmony Fest. Its the height of the season for all the things that make me sneeze. Oh well.

I have worked Harmony for four years it is the worst allergy situation I have ever seen I would estimate that 25% of the people there were having trouble. Last year I took hayfever medicine after resisting it for fourty years, forgot it this year (atchoo!)

Many Thanks to both you , TomCat :kitty: & SunDave :sunshine: for responding and clarity on this issue.

I am actually one of the most un-allergic people in Sonoma County according to the allergist specialist who performed "allergy test". ( they gave me shots for all types of grass, pollen, mold, etc...to see if I would react and I had NO reaction at all!)

But after hearing from both of you, I feel confident that the health problems and concern I have been hearing expressed from others... were indeed hay-fever, pollen, dust related...

and not the chem-trails they saw lingering in the sky Saturday or Sunday.

(i did not see the chem trails...but heard about them from others who saw them while at Harmony)

Not pollen, DUST! In another similar situation, I always got sick from the dust. Every year I worked at the Rennaisance Fair, major dust, major nasal problems. Do the math: thousands of dancing feet, zillions of motes of dust stirred into action, hundreds of aching dirty noses.

Same solution for dirty noses at both fairs is to use a Neti pot (available at natural food stores) with warm saline solution in good water. Rinse through nostril from both directions into the sink. Blow it out well. This practice has allowed me to have a sane and healthy life.

Thanks for getting my head outta those clouds & back down to the EARTH!

And it is soo true! those Neti pots are GREAT ! I have been using them every night since Harmony, actually.

Thanks for the GREAT suggestion though... ' Cause...math is NOT my speciality!

Glad you have found sanity and a healthy life through using the pot !

Next time, I will make double sure to use the pot on days of festivals / fairs / Burning Man, etc !
