At&t/cingular phone lack of coverage problem

Hello everyone...

does anyone else have the problem that their At&t /cingular phone gets no coverage?

The problem is that you need a new sim chip (go into santa rosa store & its free) & then the other problem that a roaming tower that is runned by T-mobile they stopped that contract with them...

so what can you do is call & complain. and if enough folks call in they will re-do that T-mobile contract so we can use that tower.

Please - Call 611 on your mobile phone & put your complaint into tech support.

Good suggestion...my coverage 4 miles west of Seb just became lousy to non-existent; I was wondering why that had happened. I will contact AT&T! Thanks.

What areas are you having difficulty in coverage?

I loose coverage on the hill heading up past Sushi Tozai, and can't get a signal inside Albertson's up there..

The sim chip issue can be complex, there are older phones and newer ones, At&T blue vs Cingular Orange, TDMA vs GSM, etc... it may not be as cut and dry as your situation was.

Where is the t-mobile tower, and how did you get the info on the contract issues?

I'm thinking of upgrading my plan / adding a phone / changing providers, and am interested. There is also an ongoing thread re: cellphone coverage, and I'll bet Barry will join this one with that if he gets time :wink:
