:hello:
Hi my name is Jeremiah, I am a member of the SSU cycling society, and am involved with SSU environmental Advocacy. My home town in Sebastopol, so I know quite a few of you already.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I am attending the RP bicycle advisory committee meeting on Monday and would like to bring the communities input with me.

we have developed a reporting tool to enter your comments. it feeds into a database that will help us compile and organize information.

The tool is for anywhere in the county, but we are specifically interested in RP/ Cotati right now, just because that is the meeting that is on Monday.

The SR plane is flat, and we have great weather here most of the time, getting on your bike is one of the most powerful things you can do to improve your health, slow climate change, and stop wars for oil, not to mention have a less stressful life and save money.

please do not hesitate to participate in this democratic action to improve your access to safe and efficient cycling routs through the county.

Hi Jeremiah;
My Name is Nico, I am an avid cyclist,I do not know Sonoma county roads well yet, but You could mention roadside brush cutting ,that has been very lax on green valley road, and occidental to. without the brush cut back bikes tend to need to ride more in the lane creating a dangerous situation.G.V. road is a good bikeroute and it would be nice if caltrans or whoever could keep it trimmed. they keep a tractor for that right in Graton,2 miles away. Jeremiah,

I would like to be involved when Sebastopol is under scrutiny. We moved here about a year ago, and though the Rodota trail is wonderful, there are many more improvements that could be considered to make this a bike friendly town.

Thanks,
-Paul

Keep an eye on planning activities in Sebastopol, and propose an addition to the General plan that accounts specifically for bicycle and pedestrian planning, this is the best way I know of to get bike oriented improvements included. There is a public comment period that lots of people know nothing about. Then it is basically law and must be followed when any new development or projects come up. I grew up in Sebastopol and think it needs to be more bike/ pedestrian friendly, take all of the parking out of the downtown area, (just move it out of sight at least) and widen the sidewalks, provide bike lanes, etc.

In the mean time feel free to state your specific issues on our web form.
