I read about this online virtual world (Second Life) the other day and am starting to try it out. So far, I have gone through orientation island and I am now on help island. There is a lot to learn there, so I'm taking my time.
Is anyone else here playing this game? Any advise or help would be appreciated.
So far, I am amazed by what has been created there with a bunch of 1's and 0's.

I had heard that there are real people paying real money for virtual property, autos, wives, children, education, vacation etc. I found it hard to believe...but have wondered nonetheless. Is it so? Mindy

I believe this to be true. I understand that some people do work there for themselves or others and make a real living from it too... very strange. I just want to play around and have fun with it.

I have visited Second Life a bit myself recently. I found the website www.secondlife.com to be very helpful with lots of information about the community and it works in general.

Maybe we should start a WACCO group in Second life....

I have trouble finding time to take care of half the things I need to do in my first life, how is it possible for someone to have time for a second one?

The concept of half life, as opposed to second life, embodies the decay apparent in current physical interaction.

But yes, this type of virtual world is the new frontier. Ever read William Gibson?

Yea, I hear ya. There is so much to do in this life, but when I'm all caught up on my chores and my partner is at work and I have an hour before bedtime, I figure it's better than watching TV. I'll look into the William Gibson, thanks.
