:hello:
I hope this is the correct category for this post...if not, I am sure it will be relocated to it's appropriate place. I am hoping that this amazing community will lend some support in the fight against breast cancer.
This July I will be walking 40 miles in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I am doing this as a way to honor my mom -a 14 year breast cancer survivor- for her 70th birthday. For the next 112 days I will be pounding the pavement to train for this event and raising money. To participate, I must raise $1800.00.
I am hoping that the WACCO community can help me and lend some support. There are many ways I could use your help:
- The first is obvious. Donate to the cause. No amount is to large or too small. Click the link and donate online https://info.avonfoundation.org/site/TR?px=1002394&pg=personal&fr_id=1286
- Second way you can help and lend some support is to forward this note to others who might want to donate or participate. The truth is a new case of breast cancer is diagnosed every 3 minutes.
- Third way to help is to come walking with me. I will be walking a lot. Some of my training walks are only an hour long (about 3-4 miles) and others will be longer 10+.
- Fourth way you can help me and the other participants is what I call "Share the Spirit". During the walk we will be walking long distances and will face some really steep hills. Nothing is more precious then seeing a group of people on the side of the road cheering or a hand made poster cheering us on. I am looking for posters and signs of encouragement. Get out those crayons, glue and glitter and make a few inspirational posters for all of us to enjoy. You make them...I will come and get them from you and make sure the SF Avon office has them in time for the event.
I hope you can spare a few dollars and donate in the fight against breast cancer. Remember you can donate online https://info.avonfoundation.org/site/TR?px=1002394&pg=personal&fr_id=1286
One last thing.......please let me know of friends, family or loved ones who have been diagnosed with cancer. I will be honoring survivors and those who have lost his/her battle to this disease in a very special way throughout my trianing and on the event.
